Principal M. W. Weaver called the high school to the auditorium after mid- term to explain the new county ruling regarding passing grades. RULING- Weaver reported the coun ty office has issued the statement that-a failing grade during the fall term may be pulled up by a pass ing grade during the spring term. On the other hand the new ruling does not permit a passing fall term grade to pull up a failing spring term grade. ’ The reason stated for this: restriction is that such a.grade shows the stu dent is going backward rather than making the re- quii-ed pi-ogress. Accumulation of from high school book fees over the years between the adoption of new textbooks has enables Bailey School to purchase books needed in the different depart ments and the library, C. H. Fries, Assistant Coun ty Superintendent, inform ed the school this month. "There is a possibility of Lane's not coming back to school this year, though she may be able to write a few articles for the BUGLE" states her Moth er, Mrs. W. G. Farmfer.* The loss of Lane will "certainly cripplfe the staff," laments the advis ers, "to say liothing of reducing the number of journalism students to eight."
